Sam Daley-Harris founded RESULTS in 1980 and led the organization
through its first 15 years.  What follows are acknowledgements from
that period.

I want to convey my heartfelt thanks for the unflagging and satisfyingly
successful efforts of RESULTS on behalf of vulnerable children and mothers
everywhere. Ithank you in my mind weekly, if not more often, for what you
and your colleagues are accomplishing—but I thought I should do it at least
once this year in writing.

Jim Grant, Executive Director, UNICEF
writing in 1986 after RESULTS
played a pivotal role in tripling the child survival fund from $25 million to $75
million. That year the volunteers had generated 90 editorials where newspapers
across the country supported the tripling  of funding.

There’s not a rich lobby in Washington that wouln’t trade its limos for the
group’s achievements.”

Colman McCarthy of the Washington Post

Pound for pound, RESULTS is the most effective lobby in Washington.

Rep. Tony P. Hall (D-OH) retired

The following aqcknowledgements came after Daley-Harris' term as Executive Director.

This is the best grassroots organization I work with. I get the question all the
time, ‘What can we do to make what we care about happen politically?’ And
the answer is so simple. I always cite RESULTS as the example…. Nobody does it
better than you.

Rep. Adam Smith (D-WA)

RESULTS is cultivating distinguished, altruistic women ... These
women have devoted their precious time and ample talents to this amazing
organization which advocates solutions for raising standards of living across
the globe. Their role within RESULTS has been to pioneer the use of
microenterprise programs to empower even more women to pursue their dreams
and achieve greatness of their own. These women are all heroes of mine. I
admire them, and I aspire to achieve even a fraction of what they have.
Every day I am thankful that my daughters will have the benefit of walking
the road that these courageous women have paved.

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL)
speaking about the women in her local RESULTS
group

When God looks at God’s world and sees all the awful events. . . . God
weeps, and I think God says, ‘Gee, what ever got into me to create that lot?’
And then God looks down again and sees RESULTS, sees the incredible human
beings you are, doing the kind of things you are doing, taking leadership in
your communities for the betterment of human kind. And then a smile breaks
over God’s face and a little angel goes up and wipes the tears from God’s
eyes, because you have made God say, ‘Ah, that is exactly why I created you.
You are fantastic.’

Archbishop Desmond Tutu

RESULTS is the greatest citizen's lobbying organization in the history of
Western civilization.

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH)

I don’t know of a more effective organization in terms of raising the important issues of
our time for our country and for the world, and the advocacy that you bring
personally to these very important issues — the quality of life for our brethren throughout
the world. It’s truly remarkable what this organization has done.
